Andrew Ciufo will live in Clemson lore
for his game-winning homer against
South Carolina March 2. (Clemson photo)

Ciufo out for season

Multiple media outlets report Clemson shortsrop Andrew Ciufo is out for the remainder of the season after suffering an ACL injury. Ciufo was hurt in the April 6 game at Notre Dame. He was scheduled  to have surgery on Wednesday. Ciufo hit .280 with 2 homers and 16 RBI in 27 games.  One of his homers was a 12th-inning walk-off shot against South Carolina at Segra Field in Columbia March 2. Jacob Hinderleider has moved from first base to replace Ciufo, with Jimmy Obertop and Tryston McCladdie sharing time at first base.

Kingsmore to be remembered

Clemson will celebrate the life of former player and stadium namesake Doug Kingsmore prior to Saturdays home game with Pitt. Kingsmore, who died in December at age 90,  was co-captain of the school's first ACC championship team in any sport in 1954.
