Palmetto State Baseball's 2011 freshman all-state team for NCAA DI schools

The selections were solely mine. I checked rosters on school Websites to confirm freshman status. Let me know if you think I omitted someone worthy and I'll take a look.
There was a vast disparity in the amount of playing time freshmen received, so it was a struggle to fill some positions. I also took some liberties on positions when a player played several positions. I intend to post an overall all-state team and "Palmetto Glove" defensive team as time permits.

STARTING PITCHERS
Forrest Koumas, South Carolina:
6-1 record, 2.96 ERA in 19 games, including 12 starts. He struck out 63 batters in 73 innings to help the Gamecocks win the College World Series.
Honorable mention
David Roseboom, USC Upstate 4-10 record, 6.20 ERA in 20 games including 17 starts. He moved into a starter role for a pitching-challenged USC Upstate team.
Tyler Wood, Furman 3-5, 6.52 ERA in 15 games, including 14 starts. He earned a role as a weekend starter in the Paladins' rotation.

That should be Daniel Alrich, not Charlie.

Thanks. Had a 1980s flashback to his dad. Will fix it.

Bud Jeter went 5-7 in 14 starts as a freshman at PC. Threw 75 innings and ERA about 5.60. Three of his losses were to USC, Coastal and CofC.
