Former Clemson standout Brad Chalk is listed as a student assistant coach on the baseball roster posted on the school's Website. Chalk, who graduated from Greer's Riverside High School, played minor-league baseball from 2007-11. He led the Tigers with a .366 batting average in 2007.
Also, former Hanna and Spartanburg Methodist pitcher Jake (John) Long is on the roster as a transfer from East Tennessee State University and will sit out the 2013 season. Long had a 7-6 record and 3.73 ERA for the Bucs last season, leading the team in victories.
He appeared in 20 games - 15 starts - and pitched 113 1/3 innings. He had one save, struck out 79 batters, walked 29 and allowed 11 home runs.
The Tigers open the 2013 season at home against William & Mary Feb. 15.
