Cougars, Stingers get commitments

* Hillcrest High junior infielder/outfielder KiJana Madden has committed to play for College of Charleston.
* Boiling Springs catcher Chris Stewart has committed to Florence-Darlington Tech.

Yost to speak at Georgia Southern
Major-league manager Ned Yost will be the featured speaker at Georgia Southern's third annual Evening with the All-Stars Jan. 31 in Statesboro. Yost was a former major-league player and was a player and coach with the Greenville Braves in the 1980s. Former Eagles players Victor Roache and Chip Beck also are scheduled to appear at the fundraiser for the GSU baseball program.
