Bradley earns Red Sox honor
Former University of South Carolina star Jackie Bradley Jr. has won the 2012 Greg Montalbano Minor League Award as given by the Boston chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America. The award, named former Red Sox minor-leaguer who lost a 14-year battle with cancer, goes to a player or individual who has made the greatest impact in
the Red Sox' minor-league system in the past season.

Schedule continues to take shape
I've nailed down a few more starting times for 2013 games and have included them in the calendar at the bottom of the page. I'm sure there will be other revisions, but the major omissions right now are Morris' schedule (it traditionally is posted very late on the school Website), the starting times for a handful of USC Beaufort games and Voorhees' schedule for a season-opening tournament at Florida Memorial.
More previews roll in
I've received 2013 season preview information from USC Lancaster and Spartanburg Methodist and have scheduled them for Jan. 8 and Jan. 9, respectively.
I still need responses from the following schools (in alphabetical order):
Anderson
Charleston Southern
Claflin
Coastal Carolina
Coker
College of Charleston
Florence-Darlington Tech
Lander
Limestone
Morris
Newberry
North Greenville
Presbyterian
The Citadel
USC
USC Beaufort
USC Sumter
Voorhees
Here are the previews previously scheduled. They are scheduled to post at 9 a.m. daily.
Thursday: Francis Marion
Friday: Furman
Saturday: Southern Wesleyan
Monday: Wofford
Poll feature still wacky
Blogspot's poll "gadget" must still have some bugs. Reader Terry Haselden reports his vote on this week's poll was misrecorded. I may have to suspend the poll feature for a while to see if the problem is rectified.
