2014 PREVIEW: USC SALEKHATCHIE

Palmetto State Baseball: After what you saw in fall workouts, what are your team's prospects for the 2014 season?

USC Salkehatchie coach Charles "Bubba" Dorman: USC Salkehatchie should be competitive due to most of the players being sophomores.

PSB: What are your biggest areas of concern entering the 2014 season?

BD: We lost our third baseman to an injury over the break and we are not very deep on the mound.

PSB: In what areas does your team appear to be improved from the 2013 season?

BD: We have four quality arms for the weekend and we have the potential to swing the bat.

PSB: Based on fall workouts, which returnees from 2013 (including redshirts) look best prepared to play a bigger role in 2014?

BD: Hunter Dilworth – SS/P, Shuler Ward CF/P, Doug Ard - C, Bryon Munsterman P/Utility, Wayne Parker – P, Mark Gonzalez – OF, Bryce King – P, have all improved.

PSB: Based on fall workouts, which newcomers are most likely to contend for major roles in 2014?

BD: Cliff Alexander – P/OF, Tyler Wiand - P/C, Zachary Graham – P/OF, Thomas Smith – P/INF, Di’Markus Sanders – OF have all earned playing time for this spring and will help us be a better team.
