The following information was provided by Brian Hennessy of Clemson's Media Relations Department.
Palmetto State Baseball: After what you saw in fall workouts, what are your team's prospects for the 2014 season?
BH: The goal in 2014 is Omaha and to compete for the national title. We have a lot of starters returning, so expectations are high.
PSB: What are your biggest areas of concern entering the 2014 season?
BH: We only lost one starter in the field, and that was Thomas Brittle in centerfield, who was outstanding defensively. We have several candidates to start in center, but it will be difficult to replace his defense.
PSB: In what areas does your team appear to be improved from the 2013 season?
BH: Our depth is much stronger than in previous years. Our power numbers should increase as well.
PSB: Based on fall workouts, which returnees from 2013 (including redshirts) look best prepared to play a bigger role in 2014?
BH: Look for RHP Wales Toney and 1B/OF Andrew Cox, who both red-shirted in 2013, to contribute in 2014.
PSB: Based on fall workouts, which newcomers are most likely to contend for major roles in 2014?
BH: Catcher Chris Okey will compete for the starting role behind the plate in 2014. Alex Bostic, Eli White, and Weston Wilson will also compete for playing time in 2014.
NEXT: Anderson.
