2014 TEAM PREVIEW: FRANCIS MARION

Palmetto State Baseball: After what you saw in fall workouts, what are your team's prospects for the 2014 season?

Francis Marion coach Art Inabinet: We have pitching depth, especially in the bullpen … excited about our team speed … and team chemistry is coming together.

PSB: What are your biggest areas of concern entering the 2014 season?

AI: Our overall defense needs to improve, especially fielding and throwing ground balls on the infield.

PSB: In what areas does your team appear to be improved from the 2013 season?

AI: Pitching should be better and have more depth.

PSB: Based on fall workouts, which returnees from 2013 (including redshirts) look best prepared to play a bigger role in 2014?

AI: Michael Wilson (SS) has had a good Spring…David DeWolfe (1B), Isaac Davenport (OF) have been impressive as well.


PSB: Based on fall workouts, which newcomers are most likely to contend for major roles in 2014?

AI: JD Crowe (Auburn transfer) will catch and play some 3rd … Marquis Curry-Nieves (Texas Southern) will play in the OF… Jordan Santak (Cecil CC) will pitch in our rotation.
