USC Salkehatchie player Neff dies

Parker Neff,  an  infielder-outfielder with USC Salkehatchie, died Friday. As of this writing there has been no official announcement, but two sources not in position to comment publicly confirmed Neff's death to PalmettoStateBaseball.com and there were a couple of social media posts referencing it.

Neff played at Travelers Rest High School and later attended North Greenville before transferring to Salkehatchie, a two-year school in Allendale. He was hitting .280 with 6 doubles, 2 triples, 3 homers and 17 RBIs in 31 games this season. He was a redshirt sophomore.

There has been no information regarding the circumstances nor cause of death.

The Indians are scheduled to have a home series with NJCAA Region 10 rival Spartanburg Methodist on Saturday and Sunday.
