Today has been one big kick in the pills to college baseball fans. From the College World Series being canceled to conference canceling some or all of the remaining season because of fears over the Coronavirus.
Here's a rundown of each conference/governing body's plans so far. The leagues which haven't canceled the season yet will reevaluate things later.
NCAA: No spring championship events, including the Division I College World Series in Omaha and the Division II World Series in Cary, N.C.
NCAA Division I
ACC: No games until further notice.
BIG SOUTH: No games through Sunday, March 15. League officials are meeting Friday to consider future policy.
COLONIAL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION: No games until further notice.
SEC: No games until March 30.
SOCON: No games through March 30.
SUN BELT: No games until further notice.
NCAA Division II
CONFERENCE CAROLINAS: No games until further notice.
PEACH BELT: Remainder of season canceled
SAC: Remainder of season canceled.
SIAC: Remainder of season canceled.
NAIA
No official statement regarding a decision baseball season
APPALACHIAN ATHLETIC CONFERENCE: No games through April 5.
THE SUN CONFERENCE: No games through March 26.
COLUMBIA INTERNATIONAL: canceled its Friday-Saturday home series with Bryan.
MORRIS: I didn't get an immediate response from school officials to an e-mail asking about the school's plans.
VOORHEES: Coach Marcus Smith responded to an e-mail request and said he would keep me posted on that school's plans.
NJCAA
No official statement regarding a decision on baseball season.
REGION 10: No games through April 5.
