North Greenville (5-1)
(went 1-1 vs. Newberry; went 4-0 at Emmanuel)
North Greenville was expected to contend for the NCAA Division II Championship last season before COVID-19 sent everyone to the dugouts.
Crusaders coach Landon Powell appears to have another loaded team and it has been solid in the early going this year. After losing the opener of a doubleheader to Newberry on Monday, NGU rebounded to win five straight.
The streak reached five because of a two-run rally to win Game 2 at Emmanuel on Sunday. John Michael Faile homered in the eighth to tie the game and Jordan Holladay went deep in the ninth to put NGU ahead.
Up next for the Crusaders: at home against Erskine Friday to open a four-game Conference Carolinas series
