Palmetto State Baseball co-teams of the week, April 26-May 2: Clemson, North Greenville

Clemson (3-0 for the week)

(swept No. 4 Louisville)

North Greenville (4-1 for the week)
(won the Conference Carolinas Tournament with four wins in three days out of the loser's bracket)

How could I choose one over the other?

Sure, North Greenville lost its tournament opener to Barton, but coach Landon Powell's squad scored 61 runs over its final four games to earn a spot in the NCAA Division II playoffs. The final win was a 15-1 pasting of regular-season champ Mount Olive, which won three of  four over the Crusaders in the regular season. It was a weekend of domination.

Speaking of  domination, Clemson became the first ACC team to sweep a three-game league series from Louisville since the Cardinals joined the conference in 2015. Two of the games were routs. The middle game was a one-run win thanks to freshman Caden Grice's fourth homer of the series.

The result gave the coach Monte Lee's Tigers six straight conference wins and put a huge breath of life into NCAA Tournament aspirations that seemed a far-fetched possibility less than two weeks ago.

Up next for the Crusaders:  They await their assignment in the NCAA Tournament.

Up next for the Tigers: A Wednesday home game with USC Upstate.
