Gary Lora singled twice, homered twice and drove in four runs as Florence-Darlington Tech won the opening game of the NJCAA Eastern District Tournament, beating Monroe College of New York, 12-5, at Florence's Dailey Field.
The Stingers (45-6) can qualify for the National Junior College Athletic Association World Series with a win either Saturday or Sunday.
Nathan Williams pitched the first five innings and struck out eight for coach Preston McDonald's club. Jacob Greer and Chandler Woolridge pitched two innings apiece
