Nathan Williams and Jacob Greer combined on an eight-inning no-hitter as regular-season champion Florence-Darlington Tech beat USC Salkehatchie, 9-0, in their first game of the NJCAA region 10 Tournament at Lexington County Baseball Stadium.

Williams, named the region pitcher of the year by league coaches on Thursday, struck out the first 11 batters he faced and finished with 14 strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings. Greer added a pair of strikeouts as he finished up.

J.T. Marr had three doubles, scored two runs and drove in two for the Stingers, who advanced to a 1 p.m. Sunday game.

Luke Wood and Scott McDonough had home runs in the eight as Tech brought the run rule into effect.

Earlier Friday, USC Salkehatchie scored five runs in the sixth inning to rally for a win over USC Union. Will McGuire had two hits and drove in four runs for Salkehatchie. Heston Thompson pitched a complete game for the Indians and Matthew Hager did the same for Union, which will play an elimination game Saturday afternoon.  Ethan Frasca had two hits and two RBIs for the Bantams.

Second-seeded Spartanburg Methodist got three hits and three RBIs from Sean Flannery and pulled away late to beat USC Lancaster.

Region player of the year Trendon Craig gave Louisburg a walk-off win over USC Sumter with a ninth-inning double. The Hurricanes rallied from an early 3-0 deficit. Brady White had three hits for the Fire Ants.

SMC and Louisburg will play at 10 a.m. Saturday, followed by USC Sumter and USC Lancaster at 1, USC Union and the 10 a.m. loser at 4:30 and USC Salkehatchie and the 1 p.m. winner at 7:30.

Elsewhere:  Georgia Tech scored the game's final six runs to snap Clemson's seven-game winning streak. Despite the loss, the Tigers clinched a spot in the ACC Tournament ...  College of Charleston scored eight runs in the ninth inning to take the opener of a CAA road series ...  Nolen Hester and Lawson Hill had three hits and two RBIs apiece as Wofford took the opener of a SoCon home series and sent The Citadel to its 10th straight loss ...  Jordan Marks became USC Upstate's single-season strikeout record holder (87) as the Pioneers won the opener of a Big South Conference series. He also set a record for wins in a season (9) and tied the career wins mark (20) ... Tyler Hooks and Andrew Jenner had 11th-inning RBIs to lead Winthrop to victory in a Big South Conference opener  ... Mississippi State  held South Carolina to three singles in winning the SEC series opener ... Troy took an early seven-run lead and held off Coastal Carolina to take the Sun Belt Conference series opener ... Columbia International scored six runs in the eighth inning to take the lead, but was eliminated from the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament in extra innings ... Blaize Minick allowed four hits over eight innings as USC Beaufort remained unbeaten in the Sun Conference Tournament ...
