Briefly: Clemson took the lead  in the fifth inning before it got its first hit of the game and pulled away to beat South Carolina and avoid being swept in the season series ... Julian Rip stole two bases and had a homer among his three hits as USC Upstate won its 11th straight Big South Conference game ... College of Charleston beat The Citadel for the 17th straight time and handed the 2021 Bulldogs their 13th straight loss ... Tyrell Brewer's two-run double in the ninth gave Charleston Southern a Big South Conference comeback win ...Kody Trujillo drove in seven runs - three with a six-inning homer to  invoke the run rule - as Columbia International sailed into Wednesday's championship round of the National Christian College Athletic Association's South Regional, Trujillo had two homers and two homers as he scored four runs. The Rams trailed 4-3 before scoring 10 runs in the fifth. CIU will meet Toccoa Falls in the final ... Bob Jones stayed alive in the NCCAA regional for independent schools and advanced to an elimination game against Kansas Christian,  which was rained out until 1 p.m. Wednesday. Garrett Huskey struck out seven in five innings and Conley Burk got the save with a combined two-hitter.  Both CIU and BJU are trying to qualify for the NCCAA World Series in Easley and Central later this month ... A four-run third inning put Duke in charge and the Blue Devils held on the snap Wofford's four-game losing streak ... Campbell broke open a one-run game with a four-run sixth to snap Winthrop's three-game winning streak in Big South Conference play.
