Gilmore picks up 1,250th career win

Gary Gilmore picked up his 1,250th win as a college baseball head coach with Coastal Carolina's 14-9 win over Wake Forest Tuesday night in Conway.

Gilmore ranks in the top 5 in victories among active coaches. He has been at Coastal since 1996, winning 997 games and leading the team to the NCAA World Series title in 2016. Gilmore spent six seasons at USC Aiken before moving to the Chanticleers.

Eric Brown had four hits and drove in six runs for the Chanticleers (23-23).

Scout McFalls singled, doubled, homered and drove in four runs as Winthrop upended second-place Gardner-Webb in Big South Conference play ... Jack Renwick singled twice, stole a base and drove in two runs - including one to give Wofford a lead it never relinquished - in a nonconference road win ...  Landon Choboy, Jared Kirven and Joseph Mershon had three hits apiece as College of Charleston completed a season sweep of The Citadel ... Louisville erased an early USC Upstate lead with a three-run third. Devin Buckner had four hits, including a double and a homer, for the Spartans ... Bryan College scored nine runs in the first two innings and bounced USC Beaufort from the NAIA playoffs ...
