Player of the day: Noah Stout, Florence-Darlington Tech, 3-4, HR, 4 RBI

Noah Stout's three-run homer capped a six-run sixth inning as Florence-Darlington Tech rallied for a 13-12 win over Delgado CC Friday in the first round of the Visit Panama City Beach (Fla.) Classic.

The Stingers (1-1) took a 7-2 lead before surrendering a 10-run fifth.

After Stout's homer, Landon Gaddis hit a batter then got the final  three Dolphins batters to save the win for Harrison Moore.

Patrick Matthews joined Stout in driving in four runs apiece for the Stingers. Matthews and Stout had three hits apiece.

The 16-team tournament features nine of the top 30 teams in the Perfect Game USA preseason rankings for junior college teams. The Stingers meet Florida SouthWestern State at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
