Palmetto State Baseball team of the week, Feb. 28-March 6: Clemson

Clemson (4-0 for the week)
(beat USC Upstate, went 3-0 vs. South Carolina)

It was well documented that Clemson's baseball program suffered its first losing season since 1958 with the 25-27 mark in 2021.

The Tigers are doing their best to erase any chance of back-to-back losing seasons well before the 2022 campaign much past the halfway mark. Clemson has won its first 11 games, including a three-game sweep of South Carolina completed on Sunday.

Last year, the Tigers were below what their fans have seen to be the norm in batting average, ERA and fielding. All three have been strengths this season. Clemson has a .309 team batting average, a 2.34 staff ERA and has committed just six errors in 11 games.

At the one-fifth point of the season, things are looking good,
