Columbus State picked to win Peach Belt

Defending regular-season champ Columbus State was a unanimous choice of Peach Belt Conference coaches to repeat this season. Young Harris, which won the tournament title and the accompanying automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Tournament last season, was picked to finish second. Lander (seventh) was the highest selection among S.C. schools, with USC Aiken eighth, USC Beaufort ninth and Claflin 11th. USCB is in its first season of membership after moving from NAIA to NCAA Division II. Lander designated hitter Connor Droze and USCA pitcher Joel Haney were selected to the coaches' preseason all-conference team.

Stingers have fundraiser; others would like help, too

Florence-Darlington Tech is soliciting online donations to help fund its top-caliber program. I'm not posting this to suggest you donate to the Stingers, but consider a donation to the baseball program YOU support. I doubt there's a baseball program anywhere that has all the resources it needs.

Be careful out there

It's the first day of the season, but I've already had three attempts on the PSB Facebook page to post links to supposed video streams for the Walters State-USC Salkehatchie. These links will either attempt to scam you out of money or gather personal information for devious purposes.
