CAA coaches go with Cougars

College of Charleston is an overwhelming choice of league coaches to win the4 Colonial Athletic Association champion this season. Cougars pitcher William Privette was voted preseason player of the year and joined teammates Ty Good, Trotter Harlan, J.T. Marr and Tyler Sorrentino on the preseason all-CAA team.

Chanticleers picked fifth in Sun Belt

Coastal Carolina is picked to fifth fifth in the Sun Belt Conference in a preseason poll by league coaches. Southern Miss is the coaches' pick to win the title. No Chants were picked to the preseason all-Sun Belt team, but Conway native Max Ryerson of Georgia State was.

Chlup to represent homeland

I was watching the Emory & Henry-North Greenville video feed today and the announcer mentioned Crusaders standout Marek Chlup would be absent from the team for a while later in the season to represent his native Czech Republic in the World Baseball Classic. The event is in March and will be played in Japan and the USA.
