Gamecocks picked fourth in SEC East

South Carolina is picked to finish fourth in the East Division in the preseason poll of Southeastern Conference coaches. LSU is the consensus pick to win the West Division and overall title, and Tennerssee is picked to win the East Division. No Gamecocks were selected to the preseason all-SEC first or second teams.

Furman student wants baseball back

I haven't found this lady's name yet, but the Furman student is campaigning for the school to bring back its baseball program. Here's a video of her discussing her efforts.

Game changes begin

Weather concerns have prompted schedule changes for games involving Bob Jones, Francis Marion, Lander, Newberry, USC Aiken and USC Beaufort.
* The Pepsi Invitational at Sparrow Stadium in Florence will now consist of two games Sunday (FMU/USCB at 2 p.m. at USCB/Catawba at 5 p.m.) and three games Monday (Catawba/USCB at 11 a.m. FMU/Catawba at 2 p.m. and FMU/USCB at 5 p.m.). 
* Lander's home series with Lincoln Memorial will now be played at Harrogate, Tenn., Friday (3 p.m.) and Saturday (1 p.m. DH).
* The Newberry-USC Aiken series will now include a 1 p.m. Sunday doubleheader at Newberry and 4 p.m. Monday game at Aiken.
* Bob Jones is moving its series at Mid-Atlantic Christian up by a day, now playing in Elizabeth City, N.C. at 6 p.m. Thursday and noon Friday (DH).
