Hall to miss Vandy series

Noah Hall, the No. 2 pitcher in South Carolina's rotation, will miss a second straight weekend with back issues, coach Mark Kingston said Wednesday. Kingston said Will Sanders and Jack Mahoney will start the first two games at Vanderbilt, with the third starter TBA. Kingston, speaking at a news conference, said Memphis transfer Jacob Compton likely will take a medical redshirt unless something unexpected happens. Compton has not played this season  because of a back injury. The first baseman-outfielder hit 11 home runs at Memphis in 2022.
