Golinski registers hot week

Greenville High School graduate Braden Golinski of Army had a nine-game hitting streak snapped in Game 2 against Lafayette on Sunday. He was 19-for-37 with 5 HR and 17 RBI during the streak. Golinski was 5-for 5 with 2 2B, 2 HR and 5 RBI in a Tuesday game against Long Island. For the season he as a .328 batting average with 10 homers and 47 RBI.

Miller has upstate ties

Thanks to former USC Lancaster coach Steve Williams for a tip he shared. Jarrett Miller, an Easley native and former Atlanta Braves farmhand, is the coach at Carolina University a school in Winston-Salem. Carolina University beat Bob Jones on Monday in the first round of the National Christian College Athletic Association's South Regional.
