Palmetto State Baseball team of the week, May 8-14: Clemson

Clemson (4-0 for the week)
(won at No. 8 Coastal Carolina; sweep at Virginia Tech for sixth straight ACC series win)

It's not often I go with the same team two weeks in a row, but this was a no-brainer.  The Tigers have an eight-game winning streak, with seven of those coming in the ACC. Clemson is 15-2 since a 2-8 start to league play.

Being a regional host is now almost a certainty. Getting one of eight national seeds will take some continued work, but is within reach.

Up next for the Tigers: USC Upstate, Tuesday.

Also considered
Coastal Carolina (3-1) - 15 straight Sun Belt series wins; sweep at South Alabama
College of Charleston (3-1) - pulled closer in CAA standings
USC Lancaster (2-1) - two more 'upsets' (by seed) to reach region tournament finals
