NJCAA East District Tournament
* Florence-Darlington Tech 12, Gaston College 4, - Rom Kellis' three-run double in the first inning got the Stingers off to a good start and they went on to beat Region 10 rival Gaston College to advance to Sunday's championship game at Sims Legion Park in Gastonia. Kellis added a single and an RBI double. Anderson Fulk homered for Tech (49-10). The Stingers will play Gaston College at 1 p.m. Sunday, needing one win to advance to the junior college World Series. Gaston would need to beat the Stingers twice.
