Briefly: Clemson completed a sweep of Virginia Tech and continued its torrid play in the ACC. Billy Amick and Cooper Ingle homered for the Tigers ... Coastal Carolina scored 11 runs in the first inning and went on to complete a Sun Belt Conference series road sweep to stay in a first-place tie with Southern Mississippi entering the final weekend of the season. Derek Bender homered and joined Jake Books in driving in three runs ... Hunter Hollan pitched around a couple of early jams and finished strong for a complete game as Arkansas took the deciding game of an SEC series with South Carolina ... Cam Dean singled in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning and College of Charleston held on to take the series deciding-game over CAA leader UNCW ... Easton Cullison had four hits and Jace Rinehart homered as USC Upstate pulled back within two game of first-place Campbell entering the final weekend of the Big South Conference season ... Mercer's sweep of Wofford knocked the Terriers out of the SoCon regular-season title picture. Eric Toth, a transfer from Presbyterian, homered for the Bears ... Noah Mitchell hit two of The Citadel's five home runs, but Zack Fetterman had four of Western Carolina's eight doubles as the Catamounts took the deciding game of the SoCon series ... A seven-run fourth gave High Point a six-run lead and the Panthers went on to take the rubber game of the Big South Conference series ... Gregory Ryan's grand slam in a six-run eighth inning capped a seven-RBI day as Longwood pulled away to beat Presbyterian.

NJCAA East District Tournament
* Gaston College 6-12, Florence-Darlington 5-2
- The Rhinos won a bid to the Junior College World Series by beating the Stingers twice at Sims Legion Park in Gastonia. Gaston College, in its second season of a revived program and first in NJCAA Division I, took a 6-0 lead in the opener and withstood three home runs by FD Tech to force a second game. In that second game, the Stingers (50-13) took a 1-0 lead in the second, but the Rhinos scored three runs in the bottom of the inning and were never headed.
