Sand Sharks' Meyer honored

Outfielder Brian Meyer of USC Beaufort was named to the American Baseball Coaches Association's 2023 Gold Glove team for NAIA on Wednesday. Wofford's Lucas Mahlstedt had been a finalist on the NCAA Division I level. Gold Gloves represent outstanding defense.

Patriots add six

Francis Marion University has announced the addition of six transfers for the 2024 season. Included are Dariel Villaran-Goundis and Donavan Accerbi of USC Sumter.

Peach Belt honors scholars

State teams and residents are well-represented on the Peach Belt Conference's team of academic distinction announced earlier this week.

Lander: Gary Garrett, Garrett Major, Bennet Nance, Michael Nastro, Tyler Prell.

The Citadel honors ex-players

Former The Citadel baseball standouts David Beckley and Sonny Meade have been selected for induction into the school's athletic hall of fame. In addition, former Bulldogs player Bill Ogburn is being honored for his longtime commitment to supporting the school.
