North Greenville 6, Young Harris 5
No. 3 North Greenville scored two runs in the seventh and three in the eighth to overtake No. 9 Young Harris in the opening of a Conference Carolinas series in Tigerville.

The Mountain Lions took the lead on a three-run homer by Ethan Stamps in the third inning. Kaleb Hall singled in a run in the bottom of the inning to get the Crusaders on the board.

A wild pitch and a sacrifice fly pushed Young Harris to a 5-1 lead in the seventh, but Hall pulled North Greenville back within two in the bottom  of the inning.

Bryce Roddey got the Crusaders within one when he singled in Zac Cowart in the eighth. Brett Blomquist tied the score with a squeeze bunt, and David Lewis put NGU ahead with a single through the left side of the infield.

Both teams are 12-4 in the conference, tied for second one game behind Mount Olive.

The teams conclude the series with a doubleheader starting at noon Saturday.

Kai Tullos' second homer of the game put the Pioneers ahead in the seventh inning and they went on to hand the Rhinos their first Region 10 loss and snap their 26-game winning streak. The Rhinos evened the series with a run-rule win in the nightcap.
