Conference Carolinas honors Lewis, others
First baseman David Lewis of North Greenville was named Conference Carolinas player of the year as the league announced its season honors on the tournament's beginning.
The Blue Ridge High product, a transfer from Clemson, has 20 home runs and driven in in 69 runs for the Crusaders as they won the regular-season championship.
North Greenville teammates Landon Shaw (SS), Pat Monteith (OF), Reece Fields (SP) and Nate Roof (RP) were first-team selections, as was second baseman Josean Sanchez of Erskine.
Pitchers Jake Monroe and Dawson Taylor of North Greenville, Dale Francis Jr. (DH) and Christian Rivera (OF) of Erskine, Zack Summerville (OF) of Francis Marion and Cam Mitchem (util) of Southern Wesleyan were second-team selections.
Lewis, Monteith and Sanchez were named to the all-defensive team.
Young Harris took three individual awards: pitcher of the year Zach Murray, freshman of the year Jack Enrico and coach of the year Stephen Waggener.
