Palmetto State Baseball team of the week, April 8-14: Lander

Lander (5-0 for the week)
(beat Limestone; beat Southern Wesleyan; went 3-0 at Georgia College)

Coach Jason Burke's Bearcats have been one of the hottest teams in the state, and they maintained that last week, doubling their winning streak to 10 games.  The last three had the most impact. Three wins at Georgia College moved Lander past the host Bobcats into first place in the Peach Belt Conference with two week remaining in the conference season.

Lander as a two-game lead with six conference games remaining, Claflin, which hasn't won a conference game, is one of the the Bearcats' remaining opponents, so  it's going to take some work for anybody to reel in Lander.

Up next: at Francis Marion, Tuesday.
