SEC Tournament
* South Carolina 6, Arkansas 5 - Cole Messina's second two-run home run of the game gave the Gamecocks a lead and they held on to beat the No. 5 Razorbacks.

Blake Jones reached base by being hit by a pitch ahead of both Messina blasts. Messina also singled and drove in five runs. He has hit nine homers in his last 15 games, including one in Tuesday's win over Alabama.

Eli Jones pitched  3 1/3 innings, Ty Good went 2 2/3 and Garrett Gainey went the final three innings. 

USC (35-21) plays LSU in as third-round game at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Sun Belt Conference Tournament

* Southern Mississippi 5, Coastal Carolina 0 - The Golden Eagles used a five-run eighth inning to send the Chanticleers into the losers' bracket of the tournament.

Slade Wilks broke a scoreless tie with a two-run double and Nick Monistere added a three-run homer.

Meanwhile Southern Mississippi's Billy Oldham and Colby Allen combined on a three-hit, 11 strikeout shutout.

Chanticleers starter Henry Weycker pitched six shutout innings, allowing two hits and striking out five.

The Chanticleers (34-22) will play Appalachian State at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Southern Conference Tournament
* Wofford 8, The Citadel 3 - The Terriers scored four runs in the fourth to advance to the double-elimination portion of the event at Fluor Field in Greenville.

David Wiley singled and doubled to drive in three runs for Wofford (36-17). Marshall Toole had two hits and scored twice to become the school's single-season runs-scored leader with 74.

Zac Cowan struck out six and allowed one run in 6 2/3 innings for the Terriers, who will play Western Carolina at 3 p.m. Thursday.
