Briefly:
Maryland wiped out an eight-run deficit over the final half of the game to top USC Upstate. Noah Sullivan, Koby Kropf, Troy Hamilton and Tyler Lang homered as the Spartans built their lead, but Maryland answered with five homers, two by Devin Russell.

- Shane Hammonds' RBI double put the Rams ahead to stay as they remained unbeaten in the tournament. Scott McDonough had three hits -including a home run - and Matthew Garris struck out seven in 5 2/3 innings for CIU, which plays Carolina University on Thursday.

Bob Jones was held to two hits - both by Riley Ramsey. The Bruins play Trinity Baptist in an elimination game on Thursday.
