Smart players get recognition

Eight state schools are represented on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team. To be eligible for the team, a player must have a 3.50 cumulative GPA, play in 90 percent of a team's games or start 66 percent of the games. For pitchers, they must pitch in 17 games or 25 innings.

* College of Charleston: Will Baumhofer, Connor Campbell, Dylan Johnson, Cole Mathis, Avery Neaves.
