Moody among USC honorees

Former baseball player and announcer Tommy Moody was one of nine former South Carolina student-athletes selected for induction into the USC Lettermen's Association Hall of Fame.

Moody, who died in  2023, was an infielder for the Gamecocks from 1970-72 and served as color analyst for USC radio broadcasts from 1998-2023.

Other honorees included former football players Pharoh Cooper and Melvin Ingram. Induction will be held Nov. 1, with the class being recognized at the Texas A&M game Nov. 2

Well played, young man

North Greenville holds a Church Fair each year where area churches get a chance to interact with new students. Many churches have swag to give away. I go to Reedy River Baptist Church near Furman. We offered toilet paper, candy, a snack, laundry pods and a bracelet reading "Love God, Love People" in a backpack with our church website printed on the outside. When a few baseball players came by, I asked them how there going to replace ace pitcher Reece Fields.

As they walked away, one of them said:

"That's why I'm here."
