Tigers picked to finish fourth in ACC

In their annual preseason poll, Atlantic Coast Conference coaches picked Clemson to finish fourth in the conference behind Virginia, Florida State and North Carolina. The Tigers got one first-place vote. 

Teams received 16 points for a first-place vote down to one point for a 16th-place vote.

Clemson opens its season in the Shriners Children's College Showdown in Arlington, Texas, Feb. 14-16. The home opener is against Presbyterian Feb. 19 and the ACC schedule opens at home March 14 against Notre Dame.

Series previews

* Bob Jones has posted preview notes for its season-opening home series with Ohio Christian at Conestee Park between Mauldin and Greenville. The Bruins have a new coach - Kyle McDonald - in the program's fifth season. The school dropped baseball in September before reversing its decision.

* Coker opens is series this weekend with a Friday home game and a Saturday road doubleheader against Belmont Abbey.

* Erskine opens its season with a Friday visit to Lander  and a Saturday home doubleheader against the Bearcats.

USC adjust Friday's scrimmage

South Carolina's Friday scrimmage has been moved to 1:30 p.m. It is listed as eight innings in length.

USC has added start times for its SEC games to its schedule.
