Palmetto State Baseball Team of the Week, Feb. 9-15: Francis Marion

Francis Marion (4-0 for the week)
(beat Coker, went 3-0 vs. Chowan)

To say Francis Marion put up video game-type numbers in its weekend series at Chowan may not do the performance justice.

The Patriots hit .457 (58-for-127) as a team team, scoring 73 runs. They hit 15 home runs in Saturday's doubleheader - nine in Game 1.

Zander Buchan, Charlie Bussey III and Ethan McAnally drove in six runs apiece in the 33-2 romp in Saturday's opener. McAnally had four homers and 10 RBI on the day after failing to go deep in the first eight games.

Bussey has driven in 20 runs in 10 games and has a .512 batting average. Close behind are Riley Orr (.500),  Will Dorrell (.471) and Jimmy Koza (.438). Three other players without enough at-bats to qrank among the team leaders.

Up next: at home vs. Lander on Tuesday.
