Michael Sharman pitched a four-hit complete game and Nate Savoie hit a three-run homer as Clemson (9-1) evened its series with South Carolina (7-4) at Segra Park. Sharman threw 78 pitches, 67 of them strikes.

USC's run came in the third inning. Will Craddock had a two-out  double and scored on Ethan Lizama's single.

The Tigers answered in the bottom of the inning. Ty Dalley and Jarren Purify singled and were bunted over by Tryston McCladdie. Savoie followed with his blast to left field to provide all the scoring Clemson needed behind Sharman.

The final run scored in the fourth when Jacob Jarrell came in on Purify's bases-loaded sacrifice fly.

Carolina, meanwhile, was swinging early and getting little to show for it.

Purify was the only Tiger with two hits. Craddock and Lizama had two hits apiece for the Gamecocks.

* NCAA Division I: Winthrop (8-2) built its winning streak to six with a win over Maine. (2-9). Jaylen Hernandez homered and walked twice for the Eagles ... Chandler Tuopo had four hits and drove in four runs as Charleston Southern took  Game 1 and Blake Edgmon drove in four runs in Game 2 as the Buccaneers (9-1) completed a sweep of Brown (1-4) ... Wofford (8-2) scored five runs in the third inning and four in the eighth as it clinched a series win over St. Joseph's (2-7) ... A four-run fifth inning gave Florida State the lead in Game 1 and the Seminoles (7-2) completed a sweep of The Citadel (4-4) with a 10-inning win in the nightcap. Seven of FSU's runs were unearned ... USC Upstate (7-5) took a shutout into the bottom of the ninth of Game 2 as it split a doubleheader at Georgia Southern (1-9) ... UTSA (9-1) took a 12-run lead midway through the game and rolled past Coastal Carolina (6-4) in the Bruce Bolt College Classic in Houston ... Three Illinois (6-4) pitchers combined on a seven-hit shutout against College of Charleston (4-7) in the First Pitch Invitational ... Presbyterian (2-9) wiped out a six-run deficit to force extra innings, but North Florida (7-5) pushed across a run in the 10th to hand the Blue Hose their ninth straight loss.

* Conference Carolinas: North Greenville (15-2, 6-2) snapped Francis Marion's 12-game winning streak in the opener, but the host Patriots (15-2, 7-1) came back to take the nightcap ... Chase Grube struck out 10 in six innings as Erskine the opener, but Emmanuel (7-11, 4-8) turned Game 2 around with a nine-run fifth to earn a split with the Flying Fleet (7-13, 5-4) ... UNC Pembroke (12-3, 7-2) clinched a series win over Southern Wesleyan (5-13, 2-7) in the opener and rallied with five runs in the final inning of the nightcap to complete the sweep ...

* South Atlantic Conference: Rocco Wojcik was 8-for-10 as Coker (4-13, 4-5) completed a doubleheader and series sweep of Virginia Wise (6-7, 3-6) ... Nick Riedel allowed one run over seven innings in Game 1 as Newberry (11-7, 7-2) snapped a three-game losing streak in Game 1 of a sweep of Emory & Henry (5-10, 3-6) ... Brooks Mauro had four hits and drove in four runs as Anderson (13-4, 4-4) swept Carson-Newman (8-8, 1-7). 

* Peach Belt Conference: Four pitchers combined on a one-hitter and Lander (10-6, 4-3) overwhelmed Claflin (3-10, 0-7) in a series opener ... Keaton Prior pitched a seven-inning no-hitter for Georgia College (4-12, 3-5) in the opener of a doubleheader sweep of USC Beaufort (4-11, 0-8) ... Blake Martin singled twice and doubled twice ion the opener and Johann Rodriguez drove in four runs in Game 2 as USC Aiken (13-4, 4-4)  won two against Flagler (12-5, 2-3).

* NAIA: Columbia International (5-18, 3-6) snapped Bryan's (9-11, 4-2) nine-game winning streak in the opener and finished with 30 runs in completing the Appalachian Athletic Conference sweep ... No. 7 Johnson (15-1, 7-0 was dominant in sweeping Spartanburg Methodist (6-8, 1-4) in an AAC doubleheader.

* SIAC/NCCAA/Other: Cameron Haley and Kent Johnson hit three home runs apiece and Benedict (7-3, 5-3) extended its winning streak to seven with a sweep of Kentucky State (0-13, 0-8) in a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play double dip ... Bob  Jones (5-8) scored Game 1's final 12 runs, but Trinity of Jacksonville (6-9) won a shutout in the nightcap. Evan Johnson's two-run single broke a 2-2 tie for the Bruins in the opener ... Paine (2-6) turned back Morris (2-7) in the HBCU Classic at SRP Park in North Augusta.

* NJCAA: A 10-run third inning fueled a run-rule win for Florence-Darlington Tech against USC Lancaster ... USC Sumter (10-5, 2-2) bounced back from being run-ruled in the opener to take the nightcap at Gaston College (19-2, 3-2).
