Player of the day: Henry Zenor, USC Upstate,  2-4, 2B, go-ahead RBI

* Briefly: Five pitchers combined for a two-hitter and Henry Zenor doubled in the go-ahead run in the seventh as USC Upstate (6-4) edged Stetson. Zenor and Johnny Sweeney had two hits apiece for the Spartans ... Queens took a six-run lead and held off a South Carolina (6-3) comeback to become the third school from a non-Power Four to beat the Gamecocks this season. Carolina made the final score look close with a four-run ninth ... Erskine (9-6) and Lander both scored in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings, but the Flying Fleet (5-12) used their three-run eighth to get the win at Grier Field. A throwing error to home plate allowed the final two runs to score for Erskine, which snapped a five-game losing streak. Marion McManus had three hits and drove in two runs for the Fleet. Ryan Hansen, Will McClellan and Brody Winter homered for Lander ... Danny O'Brien led off the 11th inning with a home run as UNCW (5-4) snapped a school-record seven-game season-opening winning streak by Charleston Southern (7-1). Trevor Lucas had a pair of two-run homers for the Seahawks. The Buccaneers scored a run in the eighth and two in the ninth to force extra innings. CSU was held to five hits and struck out 15 times ... Jacob Amman's game-tying grand slam capped a five-run eighth for College of Charleston (3-6), but East Carolina (4-4-1) pushed a run across in the bottom of the inning to win a game played in Fayetteville, N.C. ... Justice Knight was 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI as USC Lancaster (9-6) defeated Robeson CC for its seventh win in its last eight games ... Florence-Darlington Tech (14-5) scored eight runs in the fifth inning and collected 14 hits in a run-rule win over Southeastern CC. B.J. Balls drove in four runs for the Stingers and Jackson Cionek added a homer and three RBI ... A five-run third inning gave USC Union (10-4) the lead for good in Game 1 and Bantams pitchers held the Francis Marion JV hitless until the final inning of the nightcap of the doubleheader sweep ... Sylas Boris broke a tie score with a two-run homer in the eighth inning to lift Lenoir-Rhyne over USC Aiken (11-4) ... Brunswick CC (10-2), No. 20 in the NJCAA Division II preseason rankings, touched up USC Sumter (9-4) for 23 runs in a doubleheader sweep. The Dolphins are coached by former Clemson player Robbie Allen.
