* NCAA Division I: After Appalachian State (10-7, 0-1) wiped out a six-run deficit, No. 16 Coastal Carolina (11-6, 1-0) scored four times in the ninth to win its first Sun Belt conference game of the season. Rex Watson hit his fourth homer in eight days and Blake Barthol also connected for the Chanticleers ...Vahn Lackey homered for the second straight game and Kent Schmidt's seventh-inning grand slam put Georgia Tech (17-2, 4-1) in control as the Yellow Jackets clinched an ACC series win at Clemson (15-4, 0-2). The Tigers, who have lost three straight, outhit Tech 9-8 ... No. 23 Florida (16-3, 1-0), held hitless until two were out in the ninth inning, got a leadoff double in the 10th and went to win its SEC opener against South Carolina (12-7, 0-1) on a sacrifice fly to shallow center field. Talmadge LeCroy led off the fourth with USC's only hit. Carolina starter Josh Gunther went 6 1/3 no-hit innings ... Wylie Waters had three hits - including a homer - and drove in three runs as USC Upstate (9-10, 1-0) topped High Point (10-8, 0-1) to begin Big South Conference play. Lane Allen homered twice for the Panthers ... Gabe Natividad's 14th-inning single gave Winthrop (12-6, 1-0) a win over Radford (8-7, 0-1) in its Big South opener. Radford trailed most of the game until it scored six runs in the ninth to take a two-run lead. But the Eagles forced extra innings with two in the bottom of the inning. Each team scored once in the 12th, with Natividad doing the honors for Winthrop then, too ... Cade Collins had three hits and scored three times as Wofford (12-6) run-ruled Princeton (3-10) ... UNC Asheville (11-8, 1-0) scored two runs in the seventh and three in the eighth of a Big South Conference series opener to hand Presbyterian (2-17, 0-1) its 17th straight loss ... Austin Lemon doubled  in two runs in the fifth inning as Villanova (6-8) rallied past Charleston Southern (12-5) ... Mike Villani singled in a run in the sixth and scored later in the inning as Stony Brook (3-12, 2-2) took the opener of a CAA series at College of Charleston (7-10, 2-2) ... TJ Dunsford singled in the go-ahead run in the eighth inning as UT Martin (9-8) slipped past The Citadel (6-9). The Bulldogs' Jayden Williams had two hits, a walk, and two stolen bases to score one run and drive in another.

* Conference Carolinas: Francis Marion (20-4, 11-2) tied the score with a four-run seventh and Dariel Villaran Goundis delivered a walk-off single in the 10th to bring the Patriots within a game of first-place Young Harris (18-5, 12-1) in the standings ... Harrison Garrett's two-run single capped a three-run eighth inning and Southern Wesleyan (9-16, 4-9) held on to beat Mount Olive (9-13, 4-9) ... Belmont Abbey (15-7, 12-4) took charge of its series opener with North Greenville (19-5, 10-3) with a seven-run fifth. It was the third straight loss for the Trailblazers ... Erskine (10-16, 7-6) took the lead with five runs in the eighth, but King (9-14, 6-7) matched the five-spot in the bottom of the inning and held on to take the series opener.

* Peach Belt Conference: After Georgia Southwestern (14-10, 7-3) scored a run in the 10th to take the lead, Blake Martin singled in the tying run and scored the walk-off winner for USC Aiken (17-7, 7-3) on an error ... Lander (15-9, 9-4) scored the final six runs to slide by Flagler (15-8, 5-5). The Bearcats scored three times in wild pitches ... Ethan Finch struck out six in four innings of shutout relief as conference leader North Georgia (21-5, 12-1) handed USC Beaufort (4-18, 0-13) its ninth straight loss.

* South Atlantic Conference: Jacob Clark and Jake McGlynn combined on a five-hit, eight-strikeout shutout as Newberry (15-9, 10-3) topped Tusculum (9-14, 4-9) ... A three-run seventh allowed Lenoir-Rhyne (16-4-1, 8-4-1) to finish off a run-rule win over Anderson (15-9, 4-9) ... Lincoln Memorial (15-9, 10-6) scored four runs in the first and invoked the run rule with a six-run seventh against Coker (6-17, 5-8).

* Appalachian Athletic Conference: Chas Welch's eighth-inning single gave Spartanburg Methodist (11-12, 4-6) the lead and the Pioneers held on to beat Truett McConnell (7-16, 0-10).

* HBCUAC: Three Voorhees (2-14, 1-4) errors contributed to 10 unearned runs as Talladega (7-12, 4-0) won Game 1 and the Tornadoes rallied from eight runs down in the nightcap to get a sweep.

* Other: Southeastern Baptist (6-6) scored three runs in the ninth inning to beat Bob Jones (5-11).

* NJCAA Region 10: Jake Little and Tristan Strickland homered and Florence-Darlington Tech (24-5, 8-2) wiped out an early deficit to beat USC Sumter (16-8, 5-4) and stretch its winning streak to 11.

* ACC: No. 10 N.C. State topped Boston College, 4-2 ... No. 20 Florida State shut out No. 12 Wake Forest, 10-0 ... No. 14 Virginia dumped Virginia Tech, 11-6 ... No. 15 North Carolina whipped California, 8-1 ... Notre Dame downed Louisville, 14-11 ... Duke blanked Miami, 4-0 ... Stanford topped Pitt, 9-7.

* SEC: Ole Miss beat No., 2 Texas, 9-8, in 11 innings ... No. 5 Arkansas edged No. 3 Mississippi State, 5-3 ... No. 6 Auburn shut out Missouri, 2-0 ... No.19 Tennessee beat No. 8 Georgia, 7-4 ...
