Player of the day: Adrian Quinones, Morris, 2 two-run HR
* Briefly: Miami (20-6, 3-4 ACC) scored five unearned runs in the 10th inning and claimed the series opener at Clemson (18-9, 1-6), which suffered its fifth straight loss. All eight Miami runs scored with two out. The Canes scored a run in the first and two in the third against starter Aidan Knaak, who has not had a run scored in his support while in the game since Feb. 20, left after 4 2/3 innings. The Tigers scored a run in the fifth and two in the sixth, but left 12 runners on base. In the 10th, the Canes loaded the bases with two out and Daniel Cuvet's grounder went off third baseman Tristan McCladdie's glove for a three-run error. Ariston Veasey was Clemson's most effective pitcher, striking out foor in 2 1/3 innings ... Morris (7-11) scored five runs in the ninth without an out being registered to complete a three-game sweep of Bob Jones (7-17). The Bruins took a four-run lead into the ninth, but Jabari Thompson delivered a two-run single and Adrian Quinones followed with his second two-run homer of the game. Three walks loaded the bases. Jamure Manigo hit a grounder to third, but the Hornets runner beat the throw home for the win. Morris came from behind in all three wins.
Beyond the border: No. 2 Texas (21-4, 5-2 SEC) drilled No. 8 Oklahoma (19-6, 4-3) in 7 innings, 14-0, to open their series.
