* Briefly: TJ Anderson, Phillips Daniels, Christian Stratis and Lane Tobin had three hits apiece as The Citadel (19-21) handled Georgia Southern (12-28) its seventh straight loss. Michael Gibson and Zach Hunt hit back-to-back homers in a six-run seventh,when the Bulldogs took control. The Citadel completed a series sweep of the Eagles, who had won the last eight games prior to this season,. Before this year, the Bulldogs had not topped GSU since 2015 ... Evan Johnson doubled twice, Mannix Crawford reached base three times and scored every time and Bob Jones (13-25) matched the school record for wins in a season by taking Game 1 of a doubleheader at Paine. Preston Cox tripled and walked twice for BJU. Paine won Game 2, scoring three runs in the bottom of the 11th.  Sam Gearhart had four hits, a walk, a run scored and an RBI for the Bruins in Game 2. Henry Rumble had four hits and reached base six times in the doubleheader. He also stole three bases. The 13 wins are the most in a regular season for the six-year-old program. The 2024 team won 11 games in the regular season and two in the NCCAA South Regional Tournament ... JC Gamble, Gabe Herold and Jake Zehner had two hits and three RBI apiece as Florence--Darlington Tech snapped a two-game losing streak with a win over the Columbia International JV ... Ryan Piekutoski hit for the cycle in Game 1 and added a triple and a homer in the second game of USC Sumter's (31-18) sweep of the Erskine JV. Piekutoski had 23 homers. Dalton Taylor struck out eight in a five-inning, four-hit shutout in the nightcap.

* ACC: No. 10 Virginia rallied to top Liberty, 5-4 ... A ninth-inning squeeze bunt gave Miami a 5-4 win at Florida Atlantic ... Notre Dame topped Michigan State, 3-2 ... California edged San Francisco, 4-3 ... Stanford downed Santa Clara, 6-4.
