Tigers' Paulsen ranked No. 20
Clemson first baseman Ben Paulsen is ranked No. 20 on The College Baseball Blog's top 50 players for the 2009 season. Earlier (before I created this blog), Clemson's Kyle Parker was ranked No. 32 on the list.

Meanwhile, the Tigers also produced their in-house preview for the season.

    The Citadel announces 2009 schedule
    The Citadel announced its 2009 schedule earlier this month. Included are 35 home games at Joseph P. Riley Park, a beautiful ballpark.

    USC Beaufort prepares for first season
    USC Beaufort will field a team for the first time in 2009. The Sand Sharks are coached by former major leaguer Rick Sofield, who began his coaching career as an assistant at the University of South Carolina. He has a degree from USC. USC Beaufort will compete in NAIA and The Sun Conference. The Sand Sharks and the Savannah College of Art and Design are the only non-Florida teams in the league.
