Cougars' Sizemore selected
College of Charleston second baseman Dustin Sizemore was a first-team selection for College Baseball Insider's preseason All-American team. Coastal Carolina's Scott Woodward was second-team DH, while The Citadel outfielder, USC pitcher Sam Dyson, Coastal pitcher Nick McCully and CofC pitcher Jesse Simpson received honorable mention.

    Clemson's Matt Vaughn and Myrtle Beach native J.D. Melton of Navy are on the watch list for the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's Stopper of the Year.

    USC Upstate has posted information about its season-opening tournament. The release also says all Upstate home games will be available on ASun-TV, an internet service.

    Unfortunately for Clemson Matt Vaughn still has not recovered from shoulder surgery. Ryan Hinson starts the season as the team's closer.
