Anderson pulls rare feat
By beating defending NCAA Division II national champion Mount Olive two of three over the weekend, Anderson became the first team to win a conference series against Mount Olive since March, 2006.

Another program shuts down
Last week, Vermont announced it was dropping baseball after this season. Today, Northern Iowa made the same announcement. It's sad to see it happening to what some folks still see as the national pastime.

Warriors sign Devildog
Travelers Rest High's Thomas Floyd has signed to play baseball for Southern Wesleyan.

    USC Salkehatchie has announced the following games will be broadcast on WDOG, FM-93.5, in the Lowcountry.
    Feb. 28: Surry CC
    March 10: Salem CC
    March 14: Guilford Tech
    April 4: Spartanburg Methodist

  • The school also broadcast one game against the Anderson JVs last week on the Internet, so other broadcasts may be possible. Also, the school posted a photo gallery from the Anderson game.

    The five hit batsmen by South Carolina's pitchers in Sunday's 8-4 win over Duquesne set a school single-game record.
