Lon Joyce

While walking around the concourse at Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park in Charleston Tuesday night, I happened upon a plaque honoring Lon Joyce as a member of the Professional Baseball Scouts Hall of Fame. Before becoming an area scout for the Dodgers, Joyce was highly successful as the coach at Spartanburg Methodist. I believe he is still based out of Spartanburg. I saw Lon at a Wofford game last season, but didn't get to speak to him. Here's a link detailing Joyce's induction into the HOF last summer.
