Former Spring Valley, Presbyterian and Francis Marion player Ryan Ariail has been assigned to the Philadelphia Phillies' Lakewood BlueClaws farm team of the South Atlantic League, his mother reports in an e-mail. He had been playing in independent leagues until he was signed by the Phillies last fall.
