Clemson makes list
Rivals.com's Kendall Rogers lists Clemson as one of his top 10 two-sport (football, baseball) schools in the South. Not surprisingly, LSU tops the list.

  • Smoak still on fire
    Justin Smoak hit two home runs in a game for the second time in less than a week Monday as Team USA beat Netherlands Antilles, 11-1, in second-round play in the World Cup in Verona, Italy. Smoak, a former University of South Carolina star, drove in five runs. Smoak has played in four World Cup games for the USA, hitting five homers, after hitting team-low .167 with no homers in a four-game tuneup series against Canada. The Americans, 2-0 in second-round play, face Japan Tuesday.

  • Coastal gets commitment
    John Fidanza of Louisville's Ballard High School has committed to play for Coastal Carolina, according to the Web site VYPE.com.

  • Georgia Southern sets schedule
    Georgia Southern has announced its 2010 schedule, including 16 against state teams. In addition to games against SoCon foes Furman (away, April 30-May 2, College of Charleston (away, April 2-4), The Citadel (away, May 20-22) and Wofford (away, March 19-21), the Eagles also play Charleston Southern (away, March 10; home, May 11), Clemson (away, March 17) and South Carolina (home, March 23).

    Toledo's schedule includes an appearance in a tournament at Coastal Carolina (March 5-7) and visits to College of Charleston (March 9) and Winthrop (March 11), as well as a game against Canisius at Rock Hill (March 13).

    USC Salkehatchie has posted the fall and spring portions of its schedule. I'm not sure if my link to the spring portion will work, but I'll give it a try.

  • Wofford posts schedule
    Wofford has posted its 2010 schedule. In addition to their conference series with Furman, College of Charleston and The Citadel, the Terriers have a home-and-home series with Presbyterian and a visit to South Carolina.
