Take these for what they are worth:

    * There are posts on Clemson fan message boards that infielder-pitcher Richard Mounce is planning to transfer elsewhere to play football. Mounce hit .238 with a home run and 8 RBI in 26 games, seven as a starter, in 2009. As a pitcher, he had a 7.94 ERA in 5 2/3 innings over five relief appearances.

*A poster on Rivals.com's message board suggests Clemson has hired a replacement for Kyle Bunn as pitching coach, even going as far as to post a link to St. John Fisher College's biography of head coach Dan Pepicelli. But there's no word posted on the Clemson or St. John Fisher Web sites.

    Update:
This 2008 NCAA feature mentions that Pepicelli credits Clemson coach Jack Leggett for influencing his approach to coaching.

The Mounce transfer is not a rumor. A couple of hours after he talked to Leggett there was an article on The State website announcing the transfer. His dad wasted no time getting the word out to teams that might need a quarterback.

The pitching coach situation is not confirmed yet, but it seems to be a done deal. Should be a formal announcement soon.
