Coastal planning batting facility
Thursday was the pre-bid date for parties interested in bidding to build a covered batting facility at Coastal Carolina. Officials hope to start construction on the $1.2 million project January 2010, according to information on the link below.

    Tommy Winegardner, who left Coastal Carolina after last season, is on the fall roster for Polk State College in Winter Haven, Fla. Winegardner played in 24 games -- 13 as a starter -- and batted .292 for the Chanticleers last season. He also had an 0-2 record and 5.09 ERA in 17 2/3 innings over 14 relief appearances.
