Western announces schedule
Western Carolina has announced its 2010 schedule, including times for the home series with Furman which weren't available when Furman released its schedule a few weeks back. Games will be played on Friday, Sunday and Monday (May 7, 9-10). Western's graduation is May 8. On another Furman schedule note, SID Hunter Reid said he's been told the Paladins' March 9 game at Gardner-Webb will be played at a high school in Shelby, N.C. GWU is building a new baseball stadium.

    Defending champion Lubbock Christian is the preseason No. 1 in the NAIA ratings. Campbellsville (Ky.), coached by former North Greenville coach Beaufort Sanders, is eighth. USC Beaufort received one vote.
